A catalyst that converts resources into useful chemicals without inactivation in water.
Hydrogen can be extracted from biomass! Development of a catalyst that enables functionality in water.
We are developing a solid catalyst system that shows high activity for biomass conversion reactions in water. We have devised preparation methods to improve reaction efficiency and suppress catalyst deactivation, and designed immobilized nanoparticle catalysts. We support a series of processes from the development to commercialization of catalysts for various applications, not limited to biomass conversion. [Achievements and Initiatives at KRI] - A catalyst that oxidizes hydroxyl groups of sugars with water and air - The catalyst can react in an aqueous medium at temperatures below 100°C (at atmospheric pressure) - The reaction proceeds without reagents other than the catalyst, air, and water - Solid catalysts can be easily recovered and reused - No harmful reagents are used, and it is a low-energy, low-cost method *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
